Day Services team hosted an outdoor event. On July 26, 2022 clients, family and community members gathered at Heart Lake Conservation Park in Brampton for food, activities and live musical entertainment. It was an exciting first, as Mind Forward members from Brampton, Orangeville and Mississauga came together to enjoy a beautiful day in the park and helped to increase awareness about the prevalence of brain injury.
With more than 20,000 Canadians being hospitalized each year with an acquired traumatic brain injury, we are working towards improving education on the impacts of brain injuries and preventive measures. During this event, infographics and educational information were offered to generate conversation and to encourage participants to feel safe and supported in sharing their story.
A very special thank you to everyone who participated in this fun filled day. The Central West team, looks forward to making this an annual event, and seeing everyone again next year.
