Employee Spotlight: Meet Tracey

Employee Spotlight: Meet Tracey

If you asked Tracey’s coworkers to describe her using a movie character, they’d probably choose Mary Poppins. She’s always prepared, always supportive, and always ready to help. After spending just a few minutes with Tracey, it’s easy to understand why.

For more than 25 years, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI). Currently, Tracey is part of Mind Forward’s Seniors program, where she helps older adults stay connected, engaged, and involved in activities that bring joy and meaning to their lives. Her role includes facilitating groups, providing emotional support, encouraging social participation, and working closely with families and care teams, but what stands out most is Tracey’s ability to build genuine relationships with her clients. “The best part of my job is seeing people discover their strengths and build meaningful connections.”

For Tracey, these connections are what make her work so rewarding. Over the years, she has witnessed countless moments of growth, resilience, and friendship. These are moments that may seem small to others but can be life-changing for the individuals she supports. One memory that stands out is taking a client to see Bruce Springsteen in concert. Under an open dome and surrounded by thousands of fans, they spent the evening singing, dancing, and simply enjoying the moment. It was something Tracey will never forget. Another highlight was a five-day trip to Boundless Adventures, where she witnessed clients embrace new experiences and create memories to last a lifetime.

These experiences reinforce something that Tracey wishes more people understood about ABI: many of its effects are invisible. Although someone may appear fine on the outside, they may be navigating challenges with memory, fatigue, communication, or emotional regulation every day.

“People living with brain injury deserve understanding, respect, and opportunities to live meaningful lives.” This perspective guides everything Tracey does. Whether she is encouraging someone to try a new activity, offering a listening ear, or helping a client build confidence, she takes on every interaction with patience, empathy, and respect.

When she’s not at Mind Forward, Tracey enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her Golden Retriever, Luna, cheering on her son from the sidelines at football games, and relaxing outdoors with an iced coffee. She’s also a lifelong fan of Friends, a fitting choice for someone who believes so strongly in the importance of connection and community.

We’re grateful for Tracey’s dedication to Mind Forward and the warmth she brings everywhere she goes. Whether she’s creating opportunities for connection, celebrating a client’s success, or helping someone feel seen and supported, she embodies the compassion that is at the heart of everything we do.
