The heart of our work comes from the dedication and compassion of our team. This month, we’re proud to spotlight Kelly, who has brought both professional expertise and personal insight into her role.
Kelly has been part of Mind Forward for four years, working full-time as a Neurorehabilitation Facilitator (NRF) at TRSL. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, she supports our clients with every aspect of their rehabilitation. From assisting with daily living activities to guiding therapeutic exercises and community involvement, she plays an important role in helping individuals with ABI regain their independence, confidence, and quality of life. Her passion for this work comes from her background as a personal support worker, where she discovered her love for making a difference in others’ lives.
According to Kelly, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the difference she’s making in her client’s lives. That impact continues to fuel her passion and empathy – a perspective that has been shaped not only by her professional experience but also by personal ones. Kelly’s own brother sustained an ABI while at work and this has offered her a firsthand understanding of the challenges families face after ABI. “It’s changed his life and our family’s life in many ways. This has given me a different perspective when supporting clients and their families.”
Outside of work, Kelly finds balance through self-care, which includes exercising, meditation, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She also enjoys hiking and cooking.
Throughout her time at Mind Forward, Kelly has continued to grow professionally, and has participated in several training opportunities. She is looking forward to taking part in upcoming training offered by the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA).
Thank you, Kelly, for your dedication to our clients and the compassion you bring to Mind Forward every day!
