Walk a Mile in my Shoes

In preparation for Brain Injury Awareness month, we would like to host a special art show at the end of June. We will be completing a project called, “Walk a Mile in my Shoes”. This entails an introspective take on expressing yourself, similar to the “Unmasking of a Brain Injury” work that was done a few years ago (https://mindforward.org/2020/06/23/unmasking-2020-mind-forward/).

In this meaningful project, we will each receive a blank canvas shoe. The shoe is metaphorical for the unique, individual journeys that each survivor has endured (the good, the bad, the happy and the sad). Your shoe will be a personal map of your journey and will be shared, with the community, during ABI Awareness Month!

During our time together, you will be encouraged to reflect and convey your thoughts into something tangible.
