Diwali – Festival of Lights

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated by millions of people around the world. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, Diwali spans five days of festivities. The festival typically involves the lighting of oil lamps (diyas) and colorful candles, adorning homes with vibrant decorations, exchanging gifts, and enjoying delicious sweets and feasts. Families come together to worship deities, particularly Goddess Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity) and seek her blessings for a prosperous year ahead. Diwali also signifies the start of the new financial year in India, reinforcing its economic and cultural importance and fostering a sense of unity and joy among communities.

This year Diwali will be celebrated on November 12, 2023.
