Woodworking 2024

Mind Forward client

Back by popular demand, Mind Forward is happy to announce woodworking programs will be offered at head office!

Last October, a group of client volunteers helped renovate and refurbish the old woodshop. A staggering amount of clutter was hauled out. The walls were repaired and painted. Tools and cabinets were relocated to maximize space. New equipment was procured. Dust collection systems were installed. After two months of ongoing work, the shop welcomed its first patrons. These small groups provided an opportunity for staff training and education. Clients produced live edge walnut charcuterie boards. Custom laser engraving added a professional touch!
In the new year, Day Services looks to offer a variety of small, inexpensive projects for anyone interested in woodworking. While group sizes will remain small for safety reasons, projects will not take long to complete. This will allow plenty of opportunity for those interested. To tour the woodshop or see examples of upcoming projects, stop by Head Office or reach out to a member of the Day Services team.

I would like to thank all of the awesome clients and staff members who pitched in to get our woodshop organized and operational. It was hard and messy work! The result is an amazing space for creativity and craftsmanship.

I look forward to making sawdust with you!
