On this day, sisters tie colorful threads or “rakhi” bracelets around their brothers’ wrists, expressing their affection and prayers for their brothers’ well-being. In return, brothers give gifts or tokens of appreciation to their sisters and promise to protect and support them. The festival highlights the significance of family relationships and serves as a celebration of the unique bond shared between siblings.
