Happy Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is a traditional Hindu festival observed in India and other parts of the world, symbolizing the bond of love and protection between siblings, particularly between brothers and sisters. In Canada, it is being celebrated on August 30. On this day, sisters tie colorful threads or “rakhi” bracelets around their brothers’ wrists, expressing their affection and prayers for their brothers’ well-being. In return, brothers give gifts or tokens of appreciation to their sisters and promise to protect and support them. The festival highlights the significance of family relationships and serves as a celebration of the unique bond shared between siblings.

Happy Raksha Bandhan to all those celebrating!

Sincerely,
The Mind Forward EDI Committee
