Celebrating Aimee: Helping Uphold Happy Lives

Employee spotlight - Aimee

Meet Aimee, one of our Mississauga Halton Case Managers, who has been with Mind Forward for 22 years. Aimee’s role involves assessing clients’ physical and mental wellness, helping them achieve and maintain autonomy, and providing services so they can uphold safe, happy lives.

What inspired Aimee to work with individuals with brain injuries was her desire to make the world a better place for those who live with physical and mental challenges. She strives to provide clients with kindness, care, support, and guidance through her work. For Aimee, the most rewarding aspect of her job is being able to work with her team, which is dedicated to improving the lives of those with ABI. She also finds inspiration from her clients, learning about their lives and successes, and knowing that she is part of their journey.

Outside of work, Aimee likes to take hikes, swim, read, and she loves to travel. She strives to create a balance between her work and personal life by carving out time to do the things she loves and spend time with the people she cares about.

A major lesson Aimee has learned through her work is that change is inevitable, even regarding brain injury and recovery. The unpredictability of the field has taught her to accept and embrace life’s changes, as well as recognize the incredible advancements that have been made regarding our knowledge of the brain. “It’s amazing to learn that what we thought about the brain 20 years ago is not necessarily what we think now,” she says. Aimee is continuously impressed by the incredible advancements in neurological understanding and the power of the human mind. For this reason, Aimee feels her field is an immensely rewarding one to work in.

Thank you, Aimee, for all that you do!
