Today, we have the privilege to shine a spotlight on Sarah, a special part of the Mind Forward family for thirteen years. Sarah’s role as a Client Program Facilitator at Britannia encompasses a mission to support individuals living with ABI in their rehabilitation journey, guiding them towards a life of fulfillment and possibilities.
Sarah’s inspiration to work with brain injury survivors stems from her upbringing, where she was exposed to people with disabilities, including her father. This exposure cultivated a deep-seated interest in working in this field, which she sees as an extension of her lifelong activism. As an artist, Sarah is fascinated by the unique perspectives and creativity often exhibited by individuals living with ABI, inspiring her to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
For Sarah, the most rewarding aspect of her work lies in witnessing her clients achieve happiness and fulfillment after navigating through their challenges. She sees each person’s life as a work of art, where she plays a vital role in supporting them towards their own happy ending. Sarah embraces her clients’ creativity, helping them shape their realities in ways that deeply resonate with them.
One of Sarah’s most memorable moments at Mind Forward was having the opportunity to facilitate a song writing activity for clients at “Boundless,” an outdoor camping program. The resulting songs and artworks created by the clients were powerful expressions of their experiences with ABI, further highlighting the transformative power of art and creativity.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Sarah is a passionate storyteller and expressive art therapist, finding solace and inspiration in the world of art. Her travels across continents not only offer her a reset but also provide her with diverse perspectives and insights that enrich her work at Mind Forward.
Sarah completed her Masters in expressive Art Therapy while working at Mind Forward, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and growth. She offers valuable advice for those aspiring to work in this field, emphasizing the importance of maintaining mutual respect and openness in relationships with clients.
Sarah’s favorite stories and myths reflect her appreciation for wisdom and strength and her desire to have dinner with her late mentor speaks volumes about her profound connections with others. A fun fact about Sarah reveals her adventurous spirit, having lived in four different continents by the age of nine.
Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to Sarah for being such a dedicated, compassionate, and creative team member.
Thank you, Sarah, for all that you do!
