Drug overdoses have become a public health crisis, with an increasing number of lives lost each year, affecting families and communities globally. The devastating impacts of these tragedies is often intensified by social stigmas, which can lead to isolation and deter individuals from seeking help or discussing their struggles openly. Addressing this stigma is important, not only to support those in recovery but also to foster a community where conversations about prevention, treatment, and understanding can take place.
On August 31st, Mind Forward will be joining several community partners in Dufferin to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. The 6th annual Health Fair & BBQ, hosted by the Dufferin-Caledon Drug Strategy Committee, will give us an opportunity to remember those lost to overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and prevent incidences and impacts of overdose. Please join us between 4-7pm at the Dufferin Paramedics Headquarters, 325 Blind Line, Orangeville.
