Celebrating Andre: Over Two Decades of Service to the Brain Injury Community

Employee spotlight - Andre

Meet Andre, a Client Program Facilitator with Mind Forward’s Mississauga Day Program, who is coming up on 24 years at Mind Forward this June. In his position, Andre organizes and facilitates programs that cater to client’s different interests and a variety of activities and he is well respected by his clients, their families, and his peers. Andre plays a vital role at Mind Forward and helps create a comfortable and safe environment for those affected by ABI.

Andre’s commitment to his work is made stronger by his faith. His religion is what inspired him to work in social services and to help those in need. While being a major inspiration in his work life, his religion is also a way he feels fulfilled in his personal life. Through prayer and spending time with his family, he creates a meaningful balance between the two.

Andre finds connecting with clients and his teammates one of the most rewarding aspects of his work, and one of the ways he does so is by attending the Annual Mind Forward Family Picnic. By introducing his clients to his family, Andre brings together the best of his two worlds, and hears from clients and their loved ones about how his work has such a positive impact on their lives.

Andre’s passions include music and baseball. One of his favourite films is The Intouchables, as its story reminds him of an incredibly special client he was a caregiver for. “He was more than a client to me. His life and death made a huge impact on me”, he says. Through his work, Andre not only helps clients in their recovery, but creates meaningful and lasting connections, which is what makes him such an incredible contributor to our team.

Thank you, Andre, for all that you do!
